Who doesn’t have spring fever by now?  As you launch into spring-cleaning mode, don't forget to spring clean your insurance policies while you're at it. 

 First on the list is to update (or create!) a home inventory.  Home inventories are such a valuable tool when it comes to maximizing a claim if your home suffers serious damage.  You may think you can reconstruct a list of your belongings if need be, but chances are you can't remember EVERYTHING that's in a room, let alone your whole house! To make it easy, walk through each room of your house, snap photos of your belongings and save them in a secure place.

 Spring is also a perfect time to review your policies, making sure you have the right coverage for your current needs.  The coverage you originally chose may no longer reflect your home or auto situation.  Did you pull a car, motorcycle or boat out of winter storage that you may have taken coverage off of for the winter?   Have you recently wrapped up a renovation or home-improvement project that may change the value of your home?  Think about any valuables you may have acquired over the past year that could need coverage.
